16 Years of love in the making...
Kelly & Jason first met 16 years ago...2009 in the hallway waiting for class to start at Pleasant Hill Middle School.
What started off as just flirting during passing periods, an exchange of phone numbers, and a “poke war” on Facebook turned into a love confession on her Nokia Brick and his Sidekick. But with Jason heading off to College Park High School and Kelly one more year at PHMS, they both agreed to reconnect in a few years.
Fast forward to fall of 2012...Kelly was helping the football team on the sideline while Jason played on the field. Reconnecting in-between water breaks during practice and under the friday night lights. Playful flirting turned into a date for homecoming.
Through college Kelly & Jason grew up together. Learning to navigate the freedom of young adulting and the struggles of young relationships. From long distance (California to Mississippi) to moving in together during the lockdowns, their love has grown to become a plan for a forever future together.
It all came together on July 14, 2024 in the Santa Cruz mountains at Lago Lomita Vineyards while sitting outside of our AirBNB Yurt watching the fog roll in across the Monterey Bay...Jason with nervous hands nearly fumbled the ring box but made a quick recovery and asked Kelly to marry him & change her last name to officially become a Johnsonbaugh! It was the easiest yes, duh!!
